Molly & Stanley Adventures
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 September 2026
This policy explains what personal information Molly & Stanley Adventures ("we", "us") collects through this website and our emails, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. We are based in the United Kingdom and we are responsible for your information under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
If you have any question about this policy or your information, email us at hello@mollyandstanleyadventures.com.
What we collect
- When you ask for the free book: your first name and email address.
- How you found us: if you arrive from an ad or a tracked link, the details in that link (for example the campaign name, or the click reference Google, Facebook or Instagram adds) and the page that sent you. We attach these to your signup so we know which ads work.
- When you contact us: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and your message.
- Our emails: whether an email was delivered, opened or clicked, recorded by our email provider.
- Your visit: if you accept cookies, information about how you use the site, such as pages viewed, device and browser type and approximate location (country or city, never your exact address).
We do not collect payment details. If you join us on Patreon, Patreon handles your membership and payment under its own privacy policy.
How we use it, and our legal basis
- To send you the free book and our emails about Molly and Stanley’s adventures, new books and our Patreon. We do this because you asked for the book and agreed to receive our emails (consent). Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can use it at any time.
- To understand which ads and links bring people to us, so we spend our budget sensibly. This is in our legitimate interests as a small business.
- To measure visits and advertising with cookies, only if you accept them (consent). You can change your mind at any time using Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
- To reply to your messages (legitimate interests).
- To meet legal obligations, for example keeping records we are required to keep.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We only share it with the companies that help us run the website and our emails, and only for that purpose:
- MailerLite, which stores our email list and sends our emails.
- Hostinger, which hosts this website and our email inbox.
- Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads), to measure visits and advertising, if you accept cookies.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), to measure our ads on those platforms, if you accept cookies.
- YouTube (Google), only if you press play on one of our videos.
Some of these companies process information outside the UK, for example in the United States. When they do, the transfer is protected by the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the ICO’s International Data Transfer Agreement.
How long we keep it
- Email list: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only your email address on a "do not email" list, so we never contact you again by mistake.
- Messages you send us: up to two years, then deleted.
- Analytics data: no longer than 14 months.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, email hello@mollyandstanleyadventures.com. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
Our books are made for children to enjoy, but this website, the signup form and our emails are for adults. Please do not sign up if you are under 18. If you think a child has given us their details, email us and we will delete them.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. We also use your browser’s local storage in the same way. Only the first item below is used without asking, because the site needs it to remember your cookie choice. Everything else is only used if you press Accept, apart from YouTube, which only sets cookies when you choose to play a video.
| Name | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| ms_consent | Us | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected cookies. | 6 months |
| ms_pending_lead | Us | Tells our analytics that your signup went through. Deleted as soon as the thank-you page opens. | A few seconds |
| ms_attr | Us | Remembers which ad or link brought you here, so it can be attached if you sign up later. | 90 days |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Counts visits and tells one visitor from another. | 2 years |
| _gcl_au, _gcl_aw | Google Ads | Connects a click on our Google ad to a signup. | 90 days |

| YouTube cookies | YouTube | Only if you press play on one of our videos: YouTube sets its own cookies to play it and count views. | Set by YouTube |
You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings. Rejecting cookies deletes the ones we had already set. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
